It is one of the biggest wildlife reserves in India, nested in the beautiful state of Uttarakhand. The place is not only a spectacle to myriad of birds and animal species, but also has a number of adventure activities that you can relish. From river rafting to fishing, this place provides n number of activities for its visitors. The best time to visit Jim Corbett National Park is from November to February because during this period you can see the maximum number of animals on your safari.

There are many things to do in Jim Corbett National Park. Here are some of them:

1. Jungle Safari

This is a must thing to do when in Jim Corbett. People from different parts of the world come here to go on a jungle safari. There is a wide variety of flora and fauna found in Jim Corbett, that attracts wildlife enthusiasts from across the globe. Those who want to see the exquisite Royal Bengal Tiger, they can go straight to the Dhikala Zone which is 32 kilometres away from Ramnagar. Bhijrani Zone which is nearby Ramnagar is famous for its scenic beauty. Jhirna, which is around 15 kilometres away from Ramnagar is also known for several animal sightings.

2. Picnic near the falls

When in Jim Corbett, hyou cannot miss the Jim Corbett Falls. It is 66 feet fall and is surrounded by lush green forest and mosses-covered rocks. It is 26 kilometres away from Ramnagar and just 4 kilometres away from the main park. People usually come around here with their family for a picnic.

3. River Rafting in Kosi

If you’ve never experience river rafting at the Ganges, the experience at Kosi is no less. The turbulent Kosi river is flowing through Jim Corbett National Park where the rafting is carried out at. However, river rafting here is seasonal. One can experience grade II and grade III ragting here.

4. Offer prayers at Garjia Temple

Garjia Temple is also one of the most visited tourist spots at Jim Corbett National Park. The temple is situated on the top of a huge rock. The temple has the deities of Hindu Gods Lord Shiva, Ganesha and Bhairo Babab. During Karthik Poornima, a fest is organised at the temple in November every year.

5. Fishing

If you love fishing and want to test out your skills, Jim Corbett National Park has surprised packed for yo. The catchment area has stagnant water which allows people to catch fish. It is renowned for Mahseer fishing. However, be careful as fishing is not allowed at any other spots in Jim Corbett as these ponds are home to some rare and endangered species of fishes. There are two spots on Upper Ramganga river, namely Bhikiasen and Pancheshwar where you can fish after taking approval from the forest officials.

6. Devbhoomi Outdoor Adventure Zone

Devbhoomi Outdoor Adventure Zone is a perfect place for youngsters and kids. It is full of adventure activities like ziplining, obstacle course, rock climbing, archery and may other activities. Kids usually like to visit this place when they are at Jim Corbett National Park.

7. Bird Watching in Pangot

There’s no better meditation than doing nothing and gazing at colourful birds perched on the branches of trees. Jim Corbett has plent of such visuals for the bidwatchers. You can visit Pangot, which is close to Nainital, Uttarakhand’s another tourist hotspot. It is about 80 kilometres away from Ramnagar.

8. Night Stay at Dhikala Forest House

Imagine spending a night at a forest house situated in the middle of the jungle. Exciting, isn’t it? Staying among the wild gives another level of thrill and excitement. In the night, you can even hear the Royal Bengal Tiger roar and rare species of bids chirping. Even the wind blowing through the leaves can be heard clearly at Dhikala Forest House.

9. Go Wild Adventure Park

Apart from Devbhoomi Adventure Zone, you can visit Go Wild Adventure Park to feel some adrenaline rush. Just like Devbhoomi, there are fun activities arranged by the authorities, including giant swing, rope bridge, net climbing, rock climbing, etc. If you’re scared of heights, this place is certainly not for you.

10. Paragliding and Kayaking in Bhimtal

Bhimtal is located 70 kilometres away from Jim Corbett National Park. It will take you around 2 hours of drive to reach there. This place has recently come in vogue for its adventure activities like paragliding and kayaking. The paragliding is the newest addition to the place. People also kayak on the beautiful Bhimtal lake. Several safety measures are also taken before performing these activities. However, still you have to be strong at heart before trying paragliding or kayaking.
